Paediatric Deformity (e.g.- Kyphosis , Scoliosis and Pars defects ) assessment and non-operative management

Paediatric Spinal Deformities

Spinal deformities in children are a group of conditions that affect the alignment and curvature of the spine during growth. Early detection and appropriate management are critical to preventing progression and preserving function. The most common paediatric spinal deformities include scoliosis, kyphosis, and pars interarticularis defects.

Scoliosis is characterized by an abnormal lateral curvature of the spine, often developing during adolescence. It may be idiopathic (no known cause), congenital, or neuromuscular. Mild curves often present without symptoms, while more severe cases can lead to postural imbalance, back pain, and in extreme cases, respiratory issues.
